DMCA / Takedown Policy

Gsbooru respects the rights of copyright holders and follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you are an artist or copyright owner and wish to submit a takedown request, please follow the instructions below.

Important Notes

• Do not use the post flag system to submit DMCA takedown requests. Flags for deletion are not monitored for copyright claims and misuse may result in permanent bans.
• Only the original artist or verified copyright holder may submit a takedown request, unless rights have been legally transferred to a commissioner and proof is provided.
• Gsbooru is an archive, not an image hosting service. Requests for mass removal of uploaded content require a valid reason.
• Providing links to specific images helps us process your request more quickly.
• If possible, consider allowing older posts to remain publicly visible to benefit from exposure, while requesting removal of specific content (e.g., Patreon-exclusive content or recent uploads).

Submitting a DMCA Request

All DMCA requests must be sent via email to: dmca@gsbooru.org

Include the following in your request:

• Your artist name or company name (if applicable)
• Links to the images you want removed, or tags and site information to locate them
• Proof of ownership. Acceptable forms of proof include:
  • A screenshot showing you are logged into your official artist account (without exposing personal info)
  • An official post on your social media linking to gsbooru confirming the takedown request
• All relevant evidence supporting your claim of copyright ownership

Additional Guidelines

• If you are not the original artist, you must provide legal documentation showing ownership or rights to request a takedown.
• For images of similar characters or derivative works, we recommend contacting the original artist. gsbooru will not remove similar works without evidence of harassment or bullying.
• Artists cannot take down content via the deletion flag; identity verification is required to prevent malicious or fraudulent requests.
• Always include sufficient details so that we can identify the exact content to remove.

Following these steps ensures that DMCA takedown requests are processed efficiently and fairly while respecting artists’ rights.
